1 Day Safari

🔹 05:00 AM – Pickup from Nairobi

  • Early morning hotel pickup or airport pickup.

  • Begin the journey via the scenic Thika Superhighway towards Nanyuki.

  • Enjoy sunrise views over central Kenya’s rural landscape and Mount Kenya in the distance.

🔹 08:30 AM – Arrival at Mount Kenya National Park – Naro Moru Gate

  • Quick orientation at the park gate.

  • Start a short nature walk into the lower slopes of Mount Kenya with a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) ranger or local guide.

  • You’ll explore montane forest, waterfalls, and possibly spot animals like:

    • Colobus monkeys

    • Bushbucks

    • Buffalo

    • Forest elephants (rare sightings)

🔹 10:30 AM – Visit Mau Mau Caves & Waterfalls (Optional short hike)

  • These historical caves were used by Kenyan freedom fighters.

  • The hike leads through thick forest and ends at a waterfall — perfect for photos and a nature break.

🔹 12:30 PM – Lunch at a Scenic Lodge or Camp

  • Recommended: Serena Mountain Lodge, Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club, or Bantu Lodge.

  • Enjoy local Kenyan cuisine with a view of the mountain.

🔹 02:00 PM – Game Viewing Drive or Cultural Experience

  • Option 1: Take a short game drive around the Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy – home to rehabilitated animals including the rare bongo antelope.

  • Option 2: Visit a local Kikuyu or Meru cultural village, learn about traditional life, and take part in music and dance (by request).

🔹 03:30 PM – Begin Return Journey to Nairobi

  • Short stopover at the Equator Line Marker near Nanyuki town for a photo op.

🔹 07:30 PM – Arrival in Nairobi & Drop-off

  • End of day tour.

2 Days Safari

🔹 Day 1: Nairobi – Mount Kenya

06:00 AM – Depart from Nairobi
10:00 AM – Arrive at Mount Kenya National Park (Naro Moru Gate or Sirimon Gate)

Morning Activity: Guided Nature Hike or Forest Walk

  • Explore the lower forest zones of Mount Kenya.

  • Spot wildlife like Sykes monkeys, giant forest hogs, and unique bird species.

12:30 PM – Lunch at Lodge (e.g., Serena Mountain Lodge / Bantu Lodge)

2:00 PM – Afternoon Activities:

Option 1:

  • Game drive or nature walk at Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy

  • See endangered species, rescued animals, and panoramic views.

Option 2:

  • Light trek to Mackinder’s Camp (if Sirimon route is used – for active visitors)

  • Limited to 3-4 hours trek depending on pace.

6:00 PM – Check-in at Your Lodge / Camp

  • Bird watching or photography walk

  • Visit the Equator Line for experiments and local crafts

  • Visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy (Optional add-on) – see the last two northern white rhinos and Big 5
